The Otto Eckart Foundation was established in 1996 as a foundation under civil law by the entrepreneur and former consul Otto Eckart. It runs the Potato Museum and Pfanni Museum in Munich, promotes children and young people, education, art, culture, international understanding and environmental protection and is charitable.
Over the past 27 years, around 4 million euros have been distributed for charitable purposes. These include, in particular, the promotion of The Potato Museum & Pfanni Museum, the annual award of the Prix International Pour Les Enfants, which is endowed with 10,000 euros, support for educational projects and measures to reforest the rainforest in Guatemala, assistance in social hardship after natural disasters, promotion of art, culture, customs and the cultivation of international understanding.
