Kinusaiga – Japanese fabric picture

This workshop is held in German and English

In this workshop, you’ll learn about Kinusaiga—a traditional Japanese craft and visual art form in which mosaic images are created from fabric scraps, without any sewing.

You’ll create your own 13×18 cm artwork featuring a motif of your choice. First, you’ll score your motif into a foam board using a scalpel. Then, you’ll press the different fabric pieces edge-to-edge into the lines until your own little work of art takes shape.

Finally, you’ll choose a matching frame—you can select from black, wood, or white—and your artwork will be ready and framed right away.
