The fountains work contactlessly via a sensor – simply hold out your hand and fresh Munich drinking water, provided by Stadtwerke München, will gush out.
The artistic sculptures next to the fountains are particularly striking: A cactus marks the location on Mariss-Jansons-Platz, while a snowman causes a stir on Knödelplatz. Both figures were designed especially for Werksviertel-Mitte by artists Torsten Mühlbach and Gregor Passens and make the fountains not only practical, but also a real eye-catcher.
The drinking fountains are sponsored by AOK Bayern, and for good reason: water is much more than just a thirst quencher. It is a central building block for our health and well-being. On the one hand, it ensures basic physical and cognitive functions, and on the other, it creates spaces for relaxation and regeneration.
With this holistic understanding, AOK Bayern has launched the initiative “Die Grüne Oase – #trinkmehr”, which aims to promote a more conscious approach to drinking water. Anyone who scans the QR code on the fountain will receive exciting health tips from the AOK – for all those who not only want to quench their thirst, but also do something for their well-being.
Come by, tap water, take tips with you and discover art.
