Bavarian Center for Innovative Teaching - BayZiel Education in Bavaria
The Bavarian Center for Innovative Teaching (BayZiel) is a joint institution of the 17 Bavarian state universities of applied sciences and technical universities (HaWs / THs). The Protestant University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg and the Catholic Foundation University of Applied Sciences Munich participate on an equal footing as associated universities. BayZiel is thus geared towards long-term institutionalized cooperation between the universities in the field of innovative teaching and supports around 6,000 lecturers with its approximately 20 employees.
As an overarching organizational structure, BayZiel bundles various resources under its umbrella and is involved in the three business areas of didactics and professionalization, teaching and learning research, and practice and transfer. BayZiel is located in Munich with a branch office in Ingolstadt.
BayZiel has the task of continuously improving teaching at all Bavarian universities and providing new impetus for the further development of teaching and study formats. In particular, the tasks include the didactic further training of teachers, especially in the area of digital teaching, applied teaching and learning research including examinations and the further development of structures for study formats such as dual study programs, continuing academic education and entrepreneurship in teaching.
