About the movie: Patrice and Gary want to get married and are planning an engagement party. But as a couple with disabilities, they are threatened with having their government benefits cut off. Together they confront the unfair law that burdens the lives of millions of Americans with disabilities. When their wheelchair-accessible van breaks down, Patrice is forced to quit her job and save up for a new car. But how can she accomplish this impossible task when she is not allowed to have more than 2,000 dollars in her bank account as a condition of her essential disability pension? With all the hurdles, she finds support from loyal friends. A life-affirming film about love, equality and breaking down barriers in our society. Kathi Seemann
