Four/quarter facts From potato dumplings to cultural transformation

1/4 Our three large event locations – TonHalle, Technikum and WERK7 theater – are all barrier-free.

2/4 During the warmer months, you can buy eggs from our hens from the WERK3 roof at the reception in the ECKhaus.

3/4 The components of the Umadum fit into almost 80 shipping containers and can be flexibly assembled and dismantled almost anywhere.

4/4 The iconic WERK12 was completed in just 18 months.

1/4 Two employees got engaged at Pure Burrito last year.

2/4 This year, our foundation’s all-inclusive award will once again be presented at DOK.fest.

3/4 The 7 in the lettering of WERK7 is green because potatoes used to be stored there under a green light. The green light prevented the tubers from turning green.

4/4 The large orange sphere on the roof terrace of OTTO-25- was previously located at the entrance to the cult factory.

1/4 The ECKhaus in Atelierstraße is home to the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Guatemala.

2/4 Mariss-Jansons-Platz is named after the internationally acclaimed Latvian conductor of the same name. He was chief conductor of the BRSO in Munich for many years.

3/4 The transformation of the Kultfabrik party area into today’s Werksviertel-Mitte began ten years ago.

1/4 28 artists have their studios at WERK3.

1/4 The numbers of the individual works show the age of the buildings: single-digit numbers belong to the old stock from the Pfanni era of the quarter and two-digit numbers to new buildings.

2/4 There are four different rooftop bars and locations in Werksviertel-Mitte – each with a very special view and atmosphere.

3/4 This year, around 40 lambs were born on the Stadthochalm and Stadtniederalm.

4/4 The district has its own security, which ensures your safety day and night – the Werksviertel protection.

1/4 The water canisters along Friedenstraße, which light up at night, lead you to and through the Werksviertel-Mitte.

2/4 Europe’s first public parking tower with charging infrastructure and art façade is located in Werksviertel-Mitte.

3/4 You can buy our hens’ eggs from the Stadtalm at the ECKhaus reception.

4/4 The WERK4 is 86 meters high. The Adina is located in this building, making it the tallest hotel in Munich.

1/4 The Werksviertel-Mitte is home to 12 clubs and bars. From live music to techno clubs.

2/4 The FITZROY bears the name of the artists’ quarter in Melbourne and is therefore the counterpart to our quarter.

3/4 The e-charging stations on our premises have saved 265 tons of greenhouse gases since July 2022.

1/4 WERK3 has been brewing its own Viertel beer since 22.2.22: the Werksviertel Bräu.

2/4 The Umadum is the highest mobile Ferris wheel in the world at a height of 78 meters.

3/4 The Green Tomato Food Rescue e.V saved around 78 tons of fruit and vegetables from being thrown away last year. That’s around 1.5 tons per week!

4/4 At Werksviertel-Mitte, direct employees are called workers, tenants are called settlers and visitors are called nomads.

1/4 Until 1994, the food manufacturer Pfanni was located on the Werksviertel-Mitte site. That’s why the color orange keeps popping up in our neighborhood.

2/4 The sheep on the roof belong to Joh’s Eckart. This has a long history. It was founded in 1868 by Johannes Eckart as a fruit juice and canning factory.

3/4 The climbing wall at Heavens Gate is 30 meters high and used to be a potato silo.

4/4 Our buildings are named after plants and are thus reminiscent of the Pfanni era and the former plants where dumplings and co. were produced.
